• 1. Introduction
  • This Renewal Terms Agreement (“the Agreement”) sets out the terms and conditions governing the renewal and continuation of memberships with Catalan Soccer Ltd (“Catalan”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
  • All members (“the Member”, “you”, “your”) are required to read and understand these terms before making payment or continuing participation in our football programmes.
  • By making payment for a term, maintaining a Direct Debit Mandate, or allowing an automatic renewal to proceed, the Member confirms agreement to these terms and enters into a legally binding contract with Catalan Soccer.
  • 2. Renewal Policy
  • Catalan memberships operate on an opt-out, automatic renewal basis to ensure each child’s place is secured for the following term.
  • If the Member does not opt out of renewal by the published deadline, Catalan will process the scheduled payment automatically, and the Member will be deemed to have accepted the renewal.
  • Opt-out requests must be submitted in writing via the Catalan App or by email to inbox@catalansoccer.com or memberships@catalansoccer.com prior to the renewal deadline.
  • Failure to opt out by the deadline constitutes consent to renewal and acceptance of all associated fees for the upcoming term.
  • Renewed memberships will automatically continue in the same class, time, and location unless a class change has been formally requested and confirmed by Catalan.
  • 3. Communications and Notifications
  • Catalan will provide a minimum of one renewal notification no less than one week prior to the renewal date.
  • All renewal notifications will be sent by email only to the address provided by the Member at the time of registration or as subsequently updated.
  • Members are responsible for ensuring their email address is current, accurate, and accessible.
  • Catalan shall not be liable for missed notifications, including those diverted to spam or junk folders, or for failures arising from outdated or incorrect contact information.
  • Renewal and payment schedules are also published on official Catalan calendars and via the Catalan App for member reference.
  • 4. Payments and Direct Debits
  • All memberships are payable in advance of each term to allow Catalan to secure venues, coaching staff, insurance, and equipment.
  • Members who choose to pay by split payment are entering a full-term commitment. Opting out midway through the term or cancelling the second instalment is not permitted.
  • Members who cancel or allow a Direct Debit to bounce will forfeit their child’s place for the subsequent term.
  • Referral Discounts and Offers can only be redeemed by active members with billing security and direct debits in place. Referrals and incentives are only sustainable for the company when memberships align with our auto-renewal processes. Manual collections dramatically increase the adminsitration burden on Catalan, and therefore those memberships are not protected by the benefit of our terms.
  • Payments are covered under the Direct Debit Guarantee, which protects against errors made by Catalan or the bank.
  • Collections cannot be reversed in circumstances where the Member has failed to opt out prior to renewal.
  • 5. Cancellations and Refunds
  • Members who have newly joined Catalan may cancel within 48 hours of signup for a refund, less a £5 administration charge.
  • After 48 hours, or once a child has attended a class (whichever occurs first), the membership is non-refundable.
  • No refunds will be issued for unused sessions, partial attendance, or mid-term withdrawal once a renewal payment has been made.
  • Requests for exception (e.g., relocation to another city) may be submitted for review in writing; however, approval is at Catalan’s sole discretion.
  • 6. Changes and Class Swaps
  • Members may request a change of class or day at any time.
  • Class swaps are subject to space availability, suitability of age group, and Catalan approval.
  • 7. Communication Responsibilities
  • Members must ensure they receive and read all renewal notices and related communications.
  • Catalan fulfils its communication obligations by sending the required notifications as outlined in clause 3.
  • Failure by the Member to open, read, or respond to such communications does not void the contractual renewal.
  • 8. Legal Acknowledgement
  • This Agreement demonstrates:
  • - A clear and transparent renewal policy communicated in advance.
  • - A valid and binding contract formed through continued payment and participation — recognised in law as acceptance by conduct.
  • - That Catalan Soccer has fulfilled its duty of communication, while Members bear responsibility for opting out of renewal before the stated deadline.
  • Accordingly, any attempt by a Member to withdraw mid-term, cancel payment after renewal, or refuse payment due under this Agreement shall constitute a breach of contract under English Common Law.
  • Catalan Soccer’s position is supported under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, as all relevant pre-contract and renewal information is provided in a fair, transparent, and accessible manner.
  • 9. Enforcement and Recovery
  • In the event of non-payment or breach of this Agreement, Catalan reserves the right to recover the outstanding balance through the Small Claims Court (Money Claim Online).
  • Catalan may seek recovery of the principal sum, applicable court fees, statutory interest at 8% per annum (under Section 69 of the County Courts Act 1984), and reasonable administrative costs.
  • Members will remain liable for these costs if judgment is awarded in Catalan’s favour.
